Why is Gluten bad?

Because it causes Leaky Gut.

Are all gluten-free’ers fussing over nothing?

Nope.

They’re not.

Gluten is bad for e-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y.

It just depends how bad.

Scientists at Columbia University announced a breakthrough in understanding of the effects of gluten on our health…not just our digestive health, our whole health.

The findings of their study showed that the reason people feel crap when eating gluten is due to a separation of the tight junctions in the gut lining.

You may have heard the term “Leaky Gut”?

That’s the layman’s term for the science definition.

If you’re NOT intolerant to gluten you’ll develop Leaky Gut and it’ll stay that way for a few hours.

If you ARE intolerant to gluten you’ll develop Leaky Gut and it’ll stay that way for a few days.

So intolerant or not, if you’re constantly eating gluten, you’re in a constant state of Leaky Gut.

I’ve written two posts on Leaky Gut:

One is on the connection between Leaky Gut & Weight Gain.

The other talks about how too much of the wrong kind of exercise can actually worsen Leaky Gut.

Watch the video to hear me explain set-by-step what gluten does not only to the digestive system, but also to the brain:

So why is gluten bad & what are the signs you may have Leaky Gut:

1.  Chronic diarrhea, constipation, gas or bloating

2.  Nutritional deficiencies

3.  Poor immune system

4.  Headaches, brain fog, memory loss

5.  Excessive fatigue

6.  Skin rashes and problems such as acne, eczema or rosacea

7.  Cravings for sugar or carbs

8.  Arthritis or joint pain

9.  Depression, anxiety, ADD, ADHD

10.  Autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, celiac disease or Crohn’s

I don’t know about you, but I don’t any of that!

Still think gluten doesn’t affect you?

Try it for yourself:

Take gluten 100% out of your diet for one week.

Completely out.

Before you start write down how you’re feeling, and rate each of the following on a scale of 1-10 (scales are important as we often forget how bad things were when we aren’t feeling them anymore).

1. Energy

2. Cravings

3. Pain and/or stiffness in the body

4. Anxiety and/or depression

5. Bloating

….you can add things to this list if you have some symptoms you’re curious about, ie Acne, burping, rosacea…anything really.

And then ZERO gluten for one week.

Then rate everything again on a scale of 1-10 and check the difference.

Because I could tell you till I’m blue in the face all the negative effects of gluten.

But if you see and feel for yourself, staying gluten free will be a much easier habit to stick to.

Want more energy?

Don’t eat gluten.

Want clearer skin?

Don’t eat gluten.

Want to feel Rockstar Awesome?

You guessed it.   Toss that gluten to the curb!
